Business Concept
Enerji (through it's option to acquire CoGen ORC Power "CoGen") will be an innovative electricity micro-generator.

Our model is simple

We will capture heat that is currently wasted, use it generate electricity and then sell it without using any additional fuel or creating any additional emissions.
Enerji will
  • Generate power where our customers need it
    • No transmission costs or losses
  • Recover heat that is normally wasted in
    • Generating power from fossil fuels
    • An industrial process eg cement manufacturing, Aluminium smelting/ refining
    • Compressing gas for transmission along a pipeline
  • Use the recovered heat to generate electricity and sell it to our customers at highly competitive commercial rates
  • Produce this power with Zero Fuel, Zero Emissions

We will provide our heat recovery system and power generation equipment to our customers at no cost to them provided they buy all of the power we can supply. In doing so Enerji provides these benefits to our customers

  • No capital costs
  • Either
    • Increased power capacity
      • No additional capital outlay or
    • Lower fuel costs to produce the same amount of power
      • Lower wear and tear on machinery
      • Lower maintenance costs
  • Highly competitive commercial electricity rates
    • Lower than existing fuel costs alone
    • Long term contracts
    • Linked to CPI not fossil fuel prices
      • Long term certainty of up to 30% of power costs
  • Lower CO2 emissions
  • Lower the need for existing cooling systems or remove it all together

Our business needs this - contact Enerji

By generating up to 30% more power from the same amount of fuel being burned, Enerji will reduce its customers' Emission Trading Scheme exposure thus reducing the cost of Carbon.

The heat we recover is classified as "low grade heat" as it is typically between 300°C and 750°C. Others currently capture waste heat for co-generation but this is high grade heat typically over 1,000°C. It is usually used in steam cycles that require these high temperatures. These high temperatures mean higher pressures and, thus, higher costs not to mention the corrosive nature of water and steam.

Enerji's systems will operate at lower temperatures meaning lower pressures, and lower costs. Due to the organic working fluids we will use instead of water, our plant will not suffer the same corrosive effects caused by steam and water. Basically these fluids are common refrigerants as used in domestic and commercial refrigerators - and it's well established how long they can last.

Our preliminary research leads us to believe that low grade heat is available in abundance and is far more prevalent than high grade heat as shown below.

Waste Heat Comparison

The US Department of Energy estimates that, in 2006, there was 7 quadrillion BTUs of waste heat available from industrial processes alone - more than all of the energy consumed from all renewable sources combined. It's hard to imagine what a quadrillion BTUs is - we've heard it described as the amount of energy you'd get by burning a column of oil the size of a football field that is a kilometre high. It's a lot!
